Thursday Thirteen: 65

We are having a BBQ for my son this weekend. Here are thirteen things I will be cooking:

1. Potato Salad.

2. Fresh Fruit Salad.

3. Macaroni Salad.

4. Pasta Salad. The difference between the pasta and macaroni salad is that one is made with Mayo and one with Italian dressing.

5. Black Bean Hummus.

6. Carrot Cake. This is a great carrot cake from the May or June Cooking Light Magazine.

7. Blueberry Cake. SO easy. Get a Vanilla or Lemon cake mix. Make to directions and then dump in blueberries. YUM!

8.Toss Salad.

9. Chicken

10. Hot Dogs

11. Hamburgers

12. I am sure that my husband will want some kind of shrimp or fish.

13. And, this is where I sit down and collapse with a bottle of wine! LOL!

The purpose of Thursday Thirteen is to meet new friends and spread comment love. Go over to all things Thirteen to see who is playing.

All sounds yummy! We are having a BBQ on Sunday for my daughter’s 6th birthday party. The Black Bean Hummus sounds yummy…do you have a recipe? I would love to get that for this weekend!

I wouldn’t mind crashing this there barbecue of yours… I love these sorts of parties (in fact, it’s the sort of entertaining most of our friends do. Casual, fun, easy.).

I didn’t know the difference b/n pasta and macaroni salad…I use a little of each. The blueberry cakes sounds easy. Enjoy and at least you can get most of it done ahead of time.

Sounds a lot like the menu for my family’s Father’s Day BBQ last weekend, except we had pies instead of cakes (but Blueberry cake sounds yummy!!!). Hope yours is great. grin

Why do you guys call it “Toss Salad”? Down here (in the not-really-the-south) we call it “Tossed Salad” so what I need to know is if it’s a totally different thing and if I’ve been missing out on something good! )

YUM for cookouts!

I have a great recipe for crunchy cole slaw (made with asian vinegary dressing as opposed tot he typical creamy dressing). E-mail me if you want…it’s been a huge hit everywhere I have brought it!

A typical summer cook-out! Now that’s living! (As long as I don’t have to do the cooking).

I love bbqs, this sounds like a great weekend. Add in a nice water gun fight if it is hot enough, makes any bbq much better -)
