I never realize how noisy my house is until we lose the power. At midnight I woke up to all this noise. The furnance was working and there was light! Woo-Hoo!
I took the hottest shower I could stand this morning. And, it was wonderful.
Cable is still out: no tv, phone or internet. That’s ok. We have light. I can go home after work and do lots of laundry and scrub my empty fridge.
Shore road is still closed and part of Old Ocean House is closed, as well.





I bet you feel refreshed! It’s amazing how strange it feels not to have the things we’re accustomed to, isn’t it?
See, I’m the other way around. I don’t know what quiet really is until there’s no power! The noises we live with.
Hot showers are indeed something to be enjoyed completely, Nancy. It’s amazing how much you can miss them when our civilized comforts are taken away from us.
