The sun enters Cancer today. Today is also the summer solstice. And, the longest day of the year. Astrologically, things are happening! The Cosmic Path says this about today:
The last few days have been gigantic, but they don’t come close to the magnificent energies that will be generated today during the Summer Solstice. It’s interesting that the word ‘magnificent’ comes from the same place as the word ‘magnify’. This day features the Sun on the World Axis, an exact Grand Cross between the Saturn Chiron opposition and a Moon Jupiter opposition (all at 9 degrees of the fixed signs), and the Moon’s nodes are changing signs today, a big deal anytime it happens, but they are on the world axis too, and will remain there while they travel over the 29th degree of Gemini/Sagittarius (for about another week).
The Summer Solstice marks the point (in the Northern hemisphere) where the Sun is at its highest point in the sky. The days are the longest, and begin to get shorter right here. This may be a time when all of us feel the inevitable energy of losing the Sun’s light, but it’s a very important moment, a time of great inner shifting. If we honor that shift instead of resisting it, it can generate incredible progress and growth.The Grand Cross is ongoing, and it is significant that it becomes exact right here on the Solstice point. Saturn Chiron represents the bridge between lower and higher self, on both the personal and collective levels. The Jupiter Saturn square will continue all through 2006, and it represents a critical turning point for each of us regarding the changing social identity we are generating after the Jupiter Saturn conjunction of 2000. All of us are working on manifesting a new personal self, one that has more meaning and more social significance in the world, whether it’s our private world or the world at large. Jupiter and Chiron are also in a prolonged, long-term square with each other, representing a critical point in the self-realization process we are all experiencing on our way to Mastery. And the fact that the Moon is participating in this cross adds the vital layer of emotion to the mix, but a Taurus Moon is stable and exalted, and that’s a very good sign.
This is not a day to process but to be, and to be as fully as possible. Take in all you can, allowing it to fill you as much and as completely as you can bear, and then you will plenty to process later on. This is not a day for thinking. Don’t allow your Self to go there, because to the extent that you do you limit your capacity to change.
So it’s all good. I feel so much better today. Yesterday, I just wanted to sit in a hut and bemoan my existence. Really, I have been so ugly and evil that I justed wanted to scream at everyone. A totally “is this all really worth moment”. Well, more than a moment, about 4 days of feeling overwhelmed and depressed. A three hour nap, some changing signs and life is GOOD! It is amazing how much better I feel today.
